Only 3 pieces of jewelry have ever had the power to make me cry.
Only 3 pieces of jewelry have ever had the power to make me cry.
The first - a plastic "princess" ring my eldest son gave me when he was a child. He had overheard me once saying how much I wanted one as a child. It bothered him deeply that my mother wouldn't let me have it. So he bought me one for my birthday.
The second - my engagement ring. The look on my husband's face when he proposed to me is engraved in my soul.
The third - this bracelet, designed and created in Palestine. The stones hand picked from my family's original hometown, high in the Galilee mountains, north of Jerusalem. Stones from a place that Jesus Christ Himself named "the city on a hill".
I will be wearing all 3 when I ride the train from Damascus to Jerusalem.Â
It doesn't matter that there hasn't been a train route like that in 100 years.Â
It doesn't matter that all of hell is aligned against it.Â
There will be another train from Damascus to Jerusalem.
And we will ride it together.
